OK, so basically Eigengrau broke down again. But this time because of I installed a registry cleaner thinking it could optimize my system, only to find out it deleted some registry items which wasn't properly backed-up.
Then I try to do a factory reset, so I plug my external hard dick into Eigengrau. The menu shows up OK, but then I thought I have to "use USB device" in order to get it to boot properly, not realizing I'm already in the boot menu for the hard dick. So I try hitting the "use USB device" button over and over in an endless loop before I finally decided to go buy another hard dick, because I thought that one was faulty due to its old age. (Hey, I've been using that dick for 15 years now.)
So I go to the store, buy another hard dick and do the "create recovery partition" ritual again, and it brings me into the same loop (the boot environment). Realizing that it's not the hard dick's fault, I quickly googled how to do a factory reset, and yes, once I see the keyboard menu, I'm already inside the hard dick's recovery menu. So I just press Reset PC and done! All done with my old dick, of course. So the new dick can just serve as data storage for now.
Note to self: I've wasted 15 Reichsmarks for that extra hard dick plus 4 hours of my precious free time trying to get it to work. Now that's something I can't get back.
